Make Your Brand Stand Out with Creative Storytelling (Like This Presentation Did)
If you've ever sat through a presentation and thought, "I could be watching paint dry and it would be more exciting than this..." you're not alone.
We’ve all been there: generic slides, endless bullet points, and zero personality.
But what if your brand's next presentation didn’t just inform…
What if it entertained? Connected?
Left people talking about it long after the mic dropped?
That’s the power of creative storytelling, and Canva makes it ridiculously easy.
Creative Storytelling Comes to Life in Canva
To show what this looks like in action, I created a Canva presentation that walks through the behind-the-scenes magic of “Please Add the Wedigets”, Canva’s musical number that closed out Canva Create 2025.
Written by Tom McGovern, the performance turned product features into laugh-out-loud lyrics, unexpected dance breaks, and good old-fashioned storytelling. Even legendary designer Jessica Hische made a surprise cameo.
And this wasn’t just for fun. Fast Company reported that Canva is doubling down on musical storytelling as part of their creative brand strategy.
So I designed a presentation in Canva that told that story visually, playfully, and jam packed with never-before-seen footage.
A Visual Story That Actually Landed
This wasn't just a static deck, it was a creative experience. When I shared it on LinkedIn, people didn’t just “like” it. They connected with it. They laughed. Some even cried.
"LOVE THIS. That presentation made me cry!" – Donna Moritz
”Roger, absolutely adored your presentation, from the first song I heard of yours, to your incredible performances last year and this - thank you for the incredibly creativity and fun you gift all of us! You crushed it! 👏” – Melanie Perkins (founder of Canva)

You can use Canva Presentations to take your visual storytelling to the next level.
Here’s what made it pop:
🎬 Custom animations and slide transitions
🎶 Background audio that set the tone
🖼️ Photos, videos, frames, and Canva elements that brought the narrative to life
✨ A seamless flow that made the whole thing feel like a show, not a slideshow
And yep, every bit of it was made in Canva. No extra tools. No fancy production software. Just creative storytelling, simplified.
